Name: Amos “The Contractor” Goodeve

Bio: Amos Goodeve, a periodic  collaborator with Tom “Boiler Room” Drew, is a very busy, but criminally minded beaver and engineer/builder who uses his own talents in the name of enriching himself through theft.
Born in 1984 to a family of builders and contractors in upper Michigan, he grew up in Laurium, Michigan and though he frequently worked through the family business even as a kid (pretty much every beaver in his family was part of the family business, and working together in it), he always liked visiting larger cities.
As he got older, he learned more about people living in cities, and while he got more excited about moving to one, he also got more and more bitter by some of the things he’d read about them, or rather about yuppies, or people who just inherited their money, and also due to problems with some local jerks, he’d began wondering about just why he shouldn’t try to just rob people, seeing as he felt he deserved money more.
Around the time he graduated high school, he left home for some bigger cities and got a job at a larger contracting company, he ended up using his knowledge to periodically rob some of the houses he helped fix up, using what he learned of the houses he fixed up to get into them easier when others were asleep.
Within a few years, he went into business for himself, and used his own ‘skills’ and advertising to persuade richer patrons to buy his services. To his credit he actually was good as an actual contractor, but he was more motivated by burglary, his personal gripes with most people and greed, so he kept on just robbing people through cat burglary.
Soon enough, he started to also rob houses he didn’t even work on, using both machines of his own design and his knowledge of houses to just sneak in them and steal valuables.
While he began to enjoy his job a lot more, this was also his undoing, there were a series of bounties placed on finding and catching him, or specifically the culprits for the series of burglaries, and as you can guess, this no doubt attracted some bounty hunters. And one specific huntress named Lucy Katt, who was also interested in taking a short trip with her sister Carli and friend Isabel shortly after graduation, which was a month off by then, headed to the Virginian city Amos was residing in to catch what she didn’t know was him at the time.
While she had some initial difficulties, Amos and Lucy ultimately came to blows after he attempted to rob a penthouse that she’d pretty much baited as a trap; though Amos didn’t have to deal with many hunters directly, he’d practiced to fight with one and actually put up a fairly good fight against Lucy, not a super good one because she still beat the crap out of him and collected the bounty.
Amos didn’t spend particularly much time in prison; due to him still being a cunning thief, he was there for about two years before he escaped through a tunnel he’d dug in his cell, smuggling himself out of Virginia to Florida by means of a wooden raft he’d built shortly after the breakout, and then smuggled himself into Brazil by sneaking into a tourist’s luggage.
Upon landing there, he started robbing people again, mostly to prepare for his return to more prosperous countries, determined to become a full blown thief again, and sharpening up his own proficiency with weapons, making himself a much more formidable burglar. Needless to say, he started developing a career of his own.
While coming to blows with numerous hunters over the years (including Lucy Katt, whom he particularly dislikes for having first sent him to prison) and having robbed numerous people, he is known also for periodically collaborating with Tom “Boiler Room” Drew, whom he first met when the guy wanted to hire an engineer for a heist, and heard Amos was one of the best. Despite his hatred of rich people and Tom’s dislike of the middle class and blue collar people, the two are surprisingly good friends, and have little trouble working together.
Amos is still very active as a thief, though recently was arrested, along with Tom, after Alistair Garth hunted the duo (and their henchmen) down in Russia and extradited them to America for their trial for crimes committed there. Currently the two are in prison, but looking for a way out…

Personality: Amos is a blue collar crook of sorts, he has a good work ethic but is still willing to kill and steal to make money, and in sizable amounts of both.
What originally inspired him to commit crimes in the first place was his personal disillusionment with people, based on how despite the fact that for generations members of his family had worked hard, building houses and repairing them all over upper Michigan, there were numerous people with more money than any of his family would ever make in their lives, and never ever really worked to get a single dime of that money. As a result of this, and the fact that the middle class never really did enough about this, he decided to be a burglar, as making a living dishonestly felt like it would work better for him.
Despite his original sympathy for the middle class, he’s willing to actively rob them in the name of moneymaking, he does feel a bit of sympathy for the poor…however, this is also because he’s aware of how robbing the poor literally accomplishes next to nothing, and that he’d be better off robbing people who actually have money.
Despite being a thief, he has a hard work ethic, and looks down on people who use the stock markets, inheritances and scams that require very little effort; he outright hates such people and enjoys robbing them most.
He is no stranger to killing people, while not overly homicidal he’s still quite willing to kill, especially if the alternative is going to prison again. And he’s capable of being pretty brutal in how some of his murders are committed.
He has a fixation with building things, and is very fascinated with architecture, construction and tools, he is also known to enjoy do it yourself solutions to problems.
Amos is quite interested in casual sex, he’s not especially successful with women but is pretty interested in hiring prostitutes, and attempting to seduce other people’s wives. Matter of fact, he actually has a specific fetish for horny housewives who are dissatisfied with their marriages, he’s found/ran into some over the course of his original job as a handyman. But what he likes even more about them is the fact that doing a good job in pleasuring them can result in being able to persuade them to pay him more.
Despite what he may say about his jealousy against the rich, his main actual motivation as of the present is purely greed. He is obsessed with making money however he can, and usually through robbing people…he isn’t opposed to building things for others, be they buildings, structures or gadgets for him, in fact he’s equally suited to doing this and robbing people, but with the latter he doesn’t really use stealth to engage in cat burglary, preferring to break into places when he’s sure either nobody or almost no one is home, and sometimes when everyone is asleep.
Amos is an avid smoker, enjoying cigarettes specifically.
Despite his hatred of upper class people, he’s surprisingly good friends with his periodic collaborator Boiler Room, a fact that surprises pretty much everyone who knows of their partnership for pretty much this reason.
Amos’ hobbies and other interests happen to include Halfway to Hetelville (a fictional TV series on in-universe premium cable series SBC, which happens to be his favorite show), lumberjack competitions (as a spectator), wood carving (which he’ll often chemically treat to prevent any temptation that may emerge to eat them), the Green Bay Packers, football in general, hiking, Shameless, cars, poker, attending strip clubs, paintballing and playing Grand Theft Auto.
His preferred foods and beverages happen to be wood bark (especially birch and ash bark), actual wood (his favorite actual wood happening to be oak), cake, maple leaves, and pretty much any vegetable, he’s fond of drinking cranberry juice, beer, milk, eggnog, whiskey and vodka.

Powers, skills and equipment: Amos is not a super good combatant, more of a technical guy than a fighter, though tends to stand out due to his unique fighting style.
He’s been working in horse construction and repair for years and as a result actually has a very good idea of how to figure out whether or not a part of a building is weak, how to destabilize or make subtle changes in structures. He’s also applied this over to figuring out security systems, and can break into and crack most of them, the simpler ones anyways, he can handle some of the more high end ones found in the homes of richer people and bigger businesses, but anything especially elaborate or really good he wouldn’t be able to do, at least not easily.
Similarly, he’s also pretty good at designing structures and equipment that can be usable in burglaries, including such stuff as making secret passages, booby traps and such behind the backs of anyone else there.
He’s also quite strong, due to the large amount of work he’s done through contracting, having built up plenty of strength, which he can use to both throw punches and also swim a bit faster than a normal beaver.
While not a super good combatant, he’s a fairly formidable one anyways due to his own strength and how he’s surprisingly good at fighting using…hardware tools, both to hit and stab at close range and also to hurl them at people, especially when it comes to hurling screwdrivers as throwing knives (improvised ones admittedly), stabbing people with drills, and smacking people with hammers and wrenches. He also has a wide variety of tools, only some of which he might have on and around him at a time, and one way or another, as I established, he can fight fairly well with them. He also similarly has an array of power tools that he’ll use for weapons as well, most notably a customized nail gun that shoots out nails using compressed air in a manner similar to an actual gun…with about the same amount of force.
He’s capable of stealth, but isn’t particularly good with it, unless he’s in the water, he’s not the sort of person who frequently breaks into houses when people are inside them or when they’re asleep, he prefers instead to break into them when no or almost no people are around and then use his skills to infiltrate the premises.
As a beaver, he is sorta slow on land, but in the water he’s very fast, in fact he can actually rival an alligator or shark in terms of speed and agility when submerged, he can also hold his breath for about twenty minutes. His teeth are also real sharp and they’re very good for chopping down trees and for attacking people too, in fact he could probably cut someone’s arm off with a good bite. His tail is a lesser used weapon but serves as a very good ‘alarm’ for any comrades of his if he’s compromised by merely slapping it, the tail also serves as a somewhat good weapon if he needs it to by smacking people with it. He has about slightly below average eyesight but has keen senses of hearing, smell and touch.

Appearance: Amos “The Contractor” Goodeve is a thirty year old male beaver, he’s in good shape but not extremely good physical form, and he’s about five and a half feet tall with a stout build, though he isn’t fat and has a small gut to him, but is in fact fairly strong despite being short. He’s an American beaver, but has some traces of Eurasian beaver in his DNA, his fur is the same color of brown most beavers have, though his hair is of a noticeably lighter shade, it is short and kind of scruffy though he does use some amount of grooming, it’s not especially neat. His eyes are brown and they are a little wide, his teeth are slightly smaller than a normal beaver’s (which indicates that he uses them a lot), his jaw is also a bit wide, he is rugged and has clearly done a lot of work, this much is clear from even his face.
He tends to wear shorts and flannel shirts whenever he’s off the clock, though he’ll also wear other outfits, however, what he’ll wear when he’s on the job of robbing people is something best described as a mix between a burglar outfit and a handyman’s outfit.
It features what’s basically a mix of a hard hat and an actual helmet, meant to protect his skull from being hit with hard objects, and part of it covers his eyes, it’s got a dark blue color as opposed to the yellow hardhats usually have, plus a special tool belt that’s kinda like a utility belt and has space for about eight or nine different tools, a grey shirt and a deep blue set of overalls, albeit overalls that are clearly less baggy than normal ones, though they aren’t skintight; he wears a pair of shoes sometimes that’re kinda like sneakers or specifically shoes meant to be quieter than most other shoes, but usually he’ll wear a form of socks that’re skintight and reduce the amount of noise he’ll make when he walks around. He also keeps a pair of goggles that essentially have dark-green lenses and are intended for night vision, occasionally he’ll wear a red bandana to disguise his face but not as often since he was arrested all those years ago.

Other: His surname is a reference to the voice actor for the Engineer from Team Fortress 2, Grant Goodeve.
The reference to Laurium, Michigan as being his place of birth was a choice I made based on how it’s a town close to where I live. I made him a native of Michigan due to how beavers are frequently portrayed as Canadian in fictional stories, though they’re in fact kinda common throughout the US…in fact, there’s a beaver hut within seeing distance from my house, so that also contributed to this choice.
My ideal voice for him is Steven Ogg with a Michigan accent.
And here's the accomplice mentioned, a criminally minded beaver engineer, who's totally, incredibly greedy, who may or may not be kinda Steven Ogg sounding
