And now dear viewers, here we have the first Death Valet character profile to be released this year, here we have Rod Garth's rival Willis C. Kong.

~

Name: Willis C. Kong

Bio: Just as Hetelville has no shortage of monster hunters (to say the least) or treasure hunters, there are plenty of adventurers as well…and among the more prominent of them is Willis C. Kong, frenemy (usually more of an enemy) and rival to Rod Garth, a real badass gorilla.
He was born in 1985, to a family of gorillas who’d immigrated to Hetelville in the 30s (taking the surname Kong, after the famous movie gorilla), his father worked in a junkyard, and his momma was an orderly at a hospital, one known to literally wrestle unruly patients into submission, the two also had two other children, but Willis was born first.
Now Willis was not a bad kid, though like Rod Garth he was a bit heavy, and as a result, he was bullied for it and just like Rod himself, he ended up beating up his bullies when he was six years old, after his dad gave him some personalized boxing lessons…however, after proceeding to beat his bullies, Willis unfortunately ended up turning into something of a bully himself after he grew to love fighting way, way more than he should have, regularly picking fights with the big kids, or his former bullies, and he generally won. He would often use his reputation as the school tough boy to get the other kids to give him things.
This ultimately backfired on him at the age of nine, when he attempted to pull the ‘intimidation game’ on Alistair Garth, who wasn’t intimidated by him in the least, having already killed a bunyip by himself. Alistair remembered, how much his brother Rod loved to go after bullies, so he told Rod about Willis via a phone call, sat back and watched the fight unfold.
The fight that resulted was the first time anyone could actually match Willis, and the bully swore vengeance, actually leaving his classmates and schooling alone to frequently pick fights with Rod Garth, which he would ultimately lose due the alligator being the stronger of the two, and surprisingly enough, the smarter fighter.
At around the age of twelve, Willis had enough of Rod constantly beating him and decided to ‘play it easy’ by picking a fight with Alistair…this backfired when Alistair beat him even more easily, and in less time than Rod had ever needed, among other things, wrapping his own tail around Willis’ neck like a restraining rope.
Alistair proceeded to call Willis out, having by then actually looked into the gorilla who was constantly trying to pick fights with Rod, and finally made the gorilla see he’d ultimately turned into the bullies he originally had to beat up, he also added that Rod too was once bullied for being overweight, but Rod never became a bully, unlike the gorilla. Alistair made it abundantly clear that Willis now made the mistake of picking a fight with the best fighter of the siblings, and not wanting to have to deal with this guy again, instead shamed the hell out of Willis, appealing to what good actually did remain in him, and convinced the gorilla to try and atone for what he’d inflicted on his classmates, and to stop being the sort of bully he was.
Willis ended up doing as Alistair suggested, and turned over a new leaf, instead trying to help his classmates, much to their own surprise. With the exception of one particular student named Julius, a chimpanzee who never forgave him for some offenses he’d done towards him (wittingly and unwittingly) and would later try to repeatedly kill him. During high school, he ended up being fairly well known around his school, and became fairly popular with the girls, the fact he’d started playing football certainly didn’t hurt.
However, he and Rod still ended up being rivals of sorts, only now Kong was frequently trying to ‘one up’ Rod, be it where fighting jerks or womanizing was concerned. However, he didn’t choose to try and pursue the ‘adventuring’ career choice purely to try and continue one upping Rod, he chose it after Alistair suggested he might do pretty good at this.
While training through college, he and Rod tended to equal each other in grades on the course, it was also in college he met his future wife Paulina, a reptilian Kaiju who he met through another classmate who convinced him to come to a late night showing of “The Beast at 20,000 Fathoms”, they ended up dating and fell in love, but Willis unfortunately had a tendency to cheat on her, it wasn’t wholly out of choice, he’d ended up enjoying sleeping around too much, even if he’d preferred not to now.
After college he ended up going into the adventuring field, which he used to help support him and the then pregnant (with their first child) Paulina, whom he married shortly after college.
Though he and Rod’s rivalry continued, Willis had been growing to become legitimately skilled at the job, and grew into one of the best new adventurers there was…even if Rod was in fact better than he was, and the two periodically had to compete for work. However, though he and Paulina did like each other, his cheating didn’t stop in college and she’d gradually been getting sick of this, when he was 26 (by then having had two more kids with her), Paulina had ultimately had enough of the cheating he couldn’t really stop and divorced him.
Though he and his ex are on better terms than you might expect, and he’s still able to see his kids, Willis is still quite sad that he couldn’t refrain from casual sex enough to keep his wife. Though he still sleeps around a lot, he doesn’t have as much of a choice now that he isn’t married, however he hopes to one day be able to control himself and patch things up with Paulina.
One thing’s for sure, he’s still a thoroughly busy adventurer/mercenary, and he’s trying to do the best he can…when he isn’t trying to hold pseudo-dick measuring contests with Rod Garth.

Personality: Willis C. Kong is more than just Rod Garth’s rival, but he is famous among the adventurer subculture for this, seeing as the two of them are frequently tied in regards to their own rankings in the ‘top ten’ listing of adventurers.
His immense dislike of Rod is mostly stemming  from the outright hatred he had of him as a kid, prior to his fight with Rod, nobody had beaten him (Rod himself had actually lost a few fights before and wasn’t as proud a guy as Kong was, Rod mostly just responded to losses through rematches after he’d figured out a way to beat them), the alligator soundly trouncing him in his bully days basically made him see all too many shades of red. As a result, he’s felt driven to beat Rod, when Alistair persuaded him to stop being a bully and to stop trying to fight Rod so much, he instead chose to try and one up him in a different way, not purely to be mean, but because Rod posed a good challenge for him…that and Rod’s frequent dumbassery tends to piss him off.
He doesn’t totally hate Rod though, and actually holds him in a degree of respect, due to his fighting and womanizing skills, and the fact Rod isn’t a bad guy, despite Kong’s dislike of him.
Kong himself is a boastful ape, enjoying showing off and boasting about himself, he is in general full of pride, and doesn’t particularly enjoy being shown up.
He is capable of swallowing his pride if he has to, but will just about always have to go into some rant about it afterwards, and the longer he’s prevented from doing so (by circumstance or otherwise) the harder it is for him to hold him back.
He is a loud man who often enjoys hamming it up and yelling, he can be quiet sometimes, but in general prefers having a loud voice, he can though be quite smooth even when he’s loud.
Though he may often be a loud braggart, he’s not too much of a jerk, he fully regrets having been a bully when he was younger and tends to frown highly on bullying, and to jerkasses in general, fully willing to  beat them up regardless of whether or not he’s  been paid to. He does however sometimes like to let people fight their own battles for their sake and just offer advice.
Willis enjoys sex a lot, and due to his own skill in womanizing, he’ll frequently have casual sex, often with women he meets on his travels, and sometimes local ones, he enjoys sleeping around a lot…but at the same time hates doing so. He wants to quit sleeping around, but cannot yet bring himself to do so, this isn’t because he hates sex, it’s more because of how he still loves his ex wife Paulina and wants to get back together with her, he does admit that his skill in sex is very handy, as his ex wife enjoys having sex with him semi-frequently due to his skill, so it’s part of why she’s on good terms with him, so he appreciates that aspect of it.
Not only he loves his ex wife a lot (once having initiated a large brawl with Rod after he found out his rival banged Paulina), he also really loves his kids, in fact though he and Paulina have to share custody of them, he views time spent with them as his favorite thing of all. Like Rod, he’s actually sired illegitimate children by accident, but unlike him he’s only sired three, and he does make an effort to be part of their lives as well.
Another thing he actively enjoys is fighting, his favorite part of adventuring is the opportunity to look for a fight, he is not especially fond of fighting his nemesis Julius (more info on him later) however, due to how the chimpanzee is someone he feels very sorry for bullying when younger, and how Julius wants to kill him no matter how Willis attempts to make it up to him.
Willis also cares a lot for his two partners (more on them later, but let’s just say for now that they’re his counterparts to Chieko and Alejandro) a lot, viewing them as honorary siblings.
Other interests of Kong’s happen to be action movies, boxing matches, occasionally betting on horse races, football, collecting football cards, using his chest as a drum (once did a surprisingly good drum solo on it),24 (the show), Steven Spielberg films, weightlifting and first person shooters. His favorite foods tend to be bananas (both yellow bananas and the kind you actually find in the wild), durians, fruit in general, venison, steaks and burgers with plenty of onions, Mexican food, chili, bacon, any recipe that needs bananas, scotch, whiskey, strawberry-banana flavored milk, fruit juices, lime flavored soft drinks, and coffee, one final note is that Willis really, really enjoys eating food.

Powers, skills and equipment: While a gorilla, Willis’ fighting style isn’t as random or maniac as you might expect…after all, this is an anthro gorilla.
He has tremendous strength that’s almost on par with Rod’s, and as such has a downright superhuman level of it, plus stamina due to how he attained both through (like Rod) lots and lots and lots of exercise, and similarly to Rod, he also heals a little faster than most gorillas. And speaking of speed, he’s a fairly good runner, and somewhat agile, mostly due to his frequent battles with Julius.
Like most gorillas, he also has a very good sense of smell, one that very much rivals an alligator’s.
He’s fairly good at scaling buildings and in rooftop jumping stuff, not too surprising as he’s a gorilla.
While smarter than Rod is, Willis is not Rod’s equal when it comes to fighting, Willis isn’t as good at thinking on his feet, or resorting to more creative methods of fighting, as opposed to his reptilian rival. He’s not as skilled at fighting either, but makes up for it with his own brains, and a level of guile.
And even if Willis isn’t as good of a fighter as Rod, he is still a pretty skilled fighter, though he has plenty of experience in fighting, he’s taken plenty of classes in wrestling and thai boxing. Though he’s very skilled in hand to hand combat, unlike Rod he has not problem with using guns, and regularly uses a desert eagle magnum in his work, he’s a fairly good shot but not exceptionally so.
As he’s an ape, he is fairly skilled at traversing jungles and rooftops (as mentioned above, in fact the instincts gorillas tend to have in jungle traverse have allowed him some degree of skill at parkour), and is also alright in sneaking around.
Like Rod, Willis is pretty skilled in seduction, using his good looks, and a degree of cultivated charm to seduce ladies, he hasn’t been able to bang as many as he has, and is much more thorough about birth control than his rival is though. However, unlike Rod his large skill in talking women into spending time with him and his dick is a problem for him as he’d like to be able to stop sleeping around, but he can’t really help himself…on the plus side, this tends to make it easy for him to save money on hotels. He also has became pretty good at sex through his seductions, which is one of the reasons he and his wife are on terms as good as they are.
He’s also got a pretty good skill in eating hotdogs, and has won a surprisingly large amount of hot dog eating contests. He also tends to suck at cooking for anything that doesn’t involve bananas in some way.

Appearance: Willis is a twentynine year old male humanoid western gorilla, with black fur all over save for his hair, which is sort of brown.
His build is about as large as Rod is, and as you can guess, he’s in just as good shape, roughly the same size even, and in addition to his huge muscles on his arms, legs and chest, he also has a sizable schlong too, though it’s big but smaller than Rod’s by about four inches in length and one in girth. He tends to keep his fur somewhat neatly trimmed, with a flattop haircut, and has a bare chest. Despite being a gorilla, he does not have a ‘beer gut’ instead having a six pack even though it’s covered in fur.
He has also got green eyes, and while very clearly a gorilla, he is fairly handsome in a rough way, having also a cleft chin.
His outfit tends to vary a bit, he tends to wear black pants, a long sleeve V-neck with a green and brown color scheme, black sunglasses (Aviators specifically) a gold necklace with a K, and some black boots. On the job however, he has several outfits, and unlike Rod prefers to wear different outfits regularly.

Other: Willis C. Kong’s name comes from three different things, but the same source. As you can guess, he is named after King Kong, as a surname, but his first name has to do with being named after Willis O’Brien, who animated the original King Kong, the C. is a reference to Merian C. Cooper, one of the two men who created King Kong.
As you may guess, King Kong and Donkey Kong contributed some influence to the creation of this character. Another influence was (of all people) Patty from One Piece, in fact it was his voice that somehow proved the initial inspiration for him.
His feud with Rod Garth, and the complicated relationship he and his wife have were inspired by, of all things, Godzilla vs. King Kong.
My ideal voice actor would be Jeremy Inman, who played Patty from One Piece.
Next up'll be the stock broker turned thief, with about the oddest alias any thief would choose, Boiler Room.
