Hello again people, welcome to the first character bio of my incoming original series, Death Valet.
Today, for your reading pleasure is a character bio of one of the two protagonists, Alistair Garth.
Update: Here's an improved version of the profile, albeit better organized, and other changes to his bio and personality.

Name: Alistair Garth

Bio: Garth is a humanoid alligator who’s also a monster hunter…one of the greatest in the world. Born in 1987 to Silas and Bau-Yu Garth, he was home schooled (like his siblings) since he was four and his training put special focus on fighting.
Fighting is in his family’s blood, as his father Silas is the best alligator marksman in the world (and kind of a civilized redneck) and (an American Alligator), while his mother (a Chinese alligator) was a martial artist/Interpol agent  who made a living off of continually entering, and winning, Street Fighter esque tournaments. They met in 1985 when the pair of them were hired to hunt down the vampire leader of an alien worshiping cult and drive a stake through his heart. The two, while initially disliking each other, fell in love and married a year later. And a while later siring four eggs, which hatched to give birth to Alistair (the first hatched) and his siblings.
At age ten Garth encountered a wild bunyip while playing in the swamp…and killed it with his bare hands, his parents (who’d heard the commotion and rushed over to make sure he was okay) saw what he did and soon realized he had a talent for killing such creatures, Garth liked the idea of improving these skills a lot, and thus his parents enrolled him in a school for aspiring monster hunters, he grew very skilled in the art in the course of his enrollment, and even surpassed his own teacher (this being one Anthony Carnaki, descendent of Thomas Carnaki the Ghost Finder) in terms of skill.
When he was sixteen, Garth (as a homework project) took an assignment to the Bay of Bengal to look into the supposed theft of a tentacle that previously belonged to…Cthulhu, who was extremely pissed off about how somebody was able to saw it off him while he slept, and was the one who offered a very large bounty to anyone who could bring it back and the head of whoever robbed him.
Numerous people tried to figure out where it went, but out of all of them, Garth was the only one to figure out that the thief went to Bengal, and deduced that the flesh was likely going to be sold there.
Bringing along a couple friends of his, he began to scour the jungles for the supposed stronghold of a local criminal nicknamed “Furious Vengeance”, as he went through however, he ran into a then teenaged Anala Mritue as she used a bow and arrow to hunt down some local deer for her cub. While initially suspicious of Garth, he convinced her that he and his friends were no threat and explained their mission, and when she learned it, she explained where to find him.
It turned out the criminal was her evil twin brother Ednit, who had profited off of numerous criminal schemes and enterprises, and she was ashamed of this, she helped them get to his lair, but only on the condition that they didn’t kill him, as while he was a criminal genius who murdered a good deal of people, she still loved her brother, as he did have some good qualities though they were a bit scarce.
They stormed his base and stopped the sale of the tentacle, even recovering it. Ednit however, escaped, and as such avoided prison. But in the aftermath, Alistair and Anala had fallen in love, and she chose to immigrate to America with her newfound love, and lives nearby in an apartment.
Garth later graduated from his school at eighteen and became a licensed monster hunter. By the events of the story he’s known as one of the world’s greatest monster hunters, though (due to Ednit’s fondness of using the paranormal in his schemes drawing up numerous bounties and jobs that inevitably draw Garth’s attention, which then leads to him attacking him) he’s had a long feud with Ednit ever since, whom Garth hates for varying reasons, while Ednit hates Garth for both dating his sister and being a major thorn in his side.

Personality: Alistair is a hero who will defend the innocent along with his friends and family. He’s notably mostly immune to shock and surprise (with two possible exceptions, Ednit’s the only person who can surprise him, in addition to his sister), he’s rather stoic at times and his level headed brain is extremely intelligent.
He also has a tendency to deliver amusing and sarcastic commentary, fitting the ‘Deadpan Snarker’ trope.
He hates Ednit immensely, but loves his sister very much, and has become a sort of father figure to her cub.  He’d personally love to marry her but due to the fact that Ednit technically holds the ‘right’ to her hand in marriage he can’t until it’s been given…and the fact Ednit refuses to let him have it is one of the main gripes Alistair has against him.
Garth often does the job for money, willing to be hired to hunt down the supernatural, though he’ll also pick up bounties issued by the government and hunt them down, occasionally though, he’ll do jobs for free if the monster in question is menacing the innocent and those terrorizing him can’t afford his services, sort of like Robin Hood.
Alistair tends to take just two approaches to fighting, he’ll first generally assess the threat level and figure out what he’s up against, if he feels he needs to, he’ll prepare a careful plan and figure out a precise method of attack. However, if he knows the opponent can be handled with something less serious, he’ll generally use a simpler method like tricking the opponent or going into a total “Asskicking mode” where he’ll attack the enemy directly either by attacking him through nonlethal or lethal methods, depending on what he wants to do.
Despite his success as a monster hunter, Alistair is secretly very frustrated at how he can’t seem to truly defeat Ednit, and wishes he could just resolve the whole situation so he and Anala can go on with their lives.
Other frustrations come from his siblings; Belinda’s feud with Aurelia is something that’s driven a rift between him and his own sister due to the stuff she’s done to his friend often, to the point of refusing to let her come into his house, especially when Aurelia’s nearby. But he has even more contempt for his brother Rod due to his shallow, fratboy esque lifestyle and the fact that he has a loose grasp on responsibility. The main part of this frustration comes from the fact he literally can’t find any way to change them no matter what he tries.

Powers, skills, and equipment: He has a vast knowledge of the occult and the supernatural that he uses in his work, this knowledge is damned near encyclopedic, and he can recall it pretty quickly if he needs to. He does similar memorization of bounty lists so he can always make sure that if anyone who has a bounty on their head is nearby, they won’t slip his notice.
Garth is an expert marksman, capable of performing extraordinary feats of gunplay such as using a shotgun like a sniper rifle, holding off giant monsters using just machine guns, and performing Wesley Gibson esque gunfighting skills with handguns (see the final chapter of Wanted and you’ll get just what I mean.) He’s capable of using pretty much any ranged weapon, and anything he doesn’t know how to use, he can figure out how to use pretty quick.
He’s incredibly skilled at martial arts and can beat most everyone he fights; among the arts he is especially skilled in are alligator karate (which is generally used by alligators with his body type), judo, and kung fu (which his mother initially taught him).
He also owns a large number of occult weapons that he uses in his job, including items like Crucifixes, 108 Beads, and other items meant to hold back supernatural beings. He also has special items meant to use the weaknesses that many of these beings have, such as stakes wrapped in holly or silver bullets. He also has some magic items that do stuff like spit fire or shoot energy blasts, but he generally prefers to just use enchanted weapons as a last resort.
Alistair is physically very strong, not superhuman but he is more at a Batman or Daredevil equivalent of fitness, and is also quite fast, with quite good reflexes, and, despite what his form may imply, he is also incredibly agile and is capable of leaping around a battlefield with guns blazing. As an alligator, he possesses an extraordinary healing ability due to a hyperpowerful immune system and as such is impossible for him to get sick. He’s also got senses that are much superior to that of a human’s, especially where his senses of taste and smell are concerned. He’s also got a great ability in holding his breath and in swimming (which includes the fact that while he’s quite agile on land, he’s even more so in the water), both of which are traits natural to alligators.
On the job, he likes to carry a magic duffel bag that can hold a vast number of items, a chainsaw and a double barreled shotgun are among his preferred weapons of choice.

Appearance: His body is about four feet tall but he has very short arms and legs (the arms are actually longer than his legs and his legs are too short to drive a car with) albeit ones that are extremely strong, his physique (while he’s short) is very strong and he’s able to agilely leap around pretty much all his enemies, he has a long tail that’s about three feet in length and can work as a third limb if he concentrates hard enough, his torso looks like that of an alligator’s and his head looks a lot like an actual alligator’s more than a human, take characters like Albert Alligator from Pogo and public domain character Lockjaw (who is among Garth’s numerous ancestors).  Garth wears a black longcoat, a pair of tan shorts, and a pilgrim hat that he received from his mentor Carnaki.

Other: One last thing to note is that he has a voice that sounds similar to Steve Blum's.
And here, we have a character bio for one of the two lead characters in my upcoming comic Death Valet...ladies and gentlemen, here's Alistair Garth.
